Five Perfect Summer Grilling Recipes

Although hamburgers and hot dogs are always delish grilling options, why not try something a little out of the box this summer? Everyone loves the classics, but it’s fun to mix things up once in a while with new recipes. Today’s “Summertime Fun and Re-Runs” blog features some seriously yummy meals that are perfect for your summer cook out.

I’ve included the original link to each recipe, which you’ll find next to each recipe title. As always, I’d love to read your go-to grilling recipes in the comments!

Grilled Sirloin Skewers with Peaches and Peppers
(Cooking Light)

Kebabs are a great meal option if you’re entertaining guests since they’re easy to prepare and serve. I like that this recipe is sweet, tangy and packs a punch of flavor from all of the seasonings.

Miso-Glazed Chicken Burgers with Cabbage Apple Slaw
(Country Living)

I’m always keeping an eye out for healthy meal ideas, and that’s why this chicken burger is one I had to include on my list. It has less calories than a classic hamburger, but is just as filling, tasty and delicious! The crunch of the slaw is an added bonus.

Grilled Herb Garden Pizza
(Love and Lemons)

Not a meat eater? This pizza is an out-of-the-box idea to try on the grill, and calls for mozzarella, tomatoes and your favorite fresh herbs. I really like basil, but you could also add parsley, sage or thyme.

Southwestern Catfish
(Taste of Home)

If you’re looking to add a little spice to your life, this recipe is the one for you. The catfish is coated with a spice rub and served with a homemade salsa on top. Enjoy as is, or in a soft taco shell with all of the regular fixings.

Grilled Bread Pudding
(Food Network)

OK, so this may not be the healthiest dessert option, but splurges are allowed sometimes. This recipes uses fresh peaches and raspberries, but you can definitely come up with your own creative combinations.

Next week, come back for another post in the “Summertime Fun and Re-Run” series. Be sure to check out the rest of my website for other blog posts, to sign up for my online CEU courses, and to stay up-to-date on what’s hot, what’s new and what’s BoomerSmarts®.
